When one is lost and lonely, one has to learn to make friends. The head nurse at the PAC, after having known her a little more, does show caring as we exchanged information about how to care. However, to get care is totally subjective here. One time I was released from the Patient Acute Care, I was given a paper that said I had completed some kind of job training course in 2020, and it never happened! They definitely take advantage of the lonely and the alone here.

Tgc has helped me in so many ways. I feel like I can and will rely on them regularly. Even during their renovation and COVID-19. I greatly appreciate the center now includes contact link in their phone message for the pharmacy. Now I do not have to memorize telephone numbers. The staff is available for help all the time. They are carrying and loving with what you need. I just lost my cat on Halloween and they were there for me as I was starting my grieving process. So I don’t know what you’re complaining about. I have gone to behavioral center here, Phoenix and Tucson and tgc is by far the best and most helpful. Thank you Guidance Center

I went to the detox center where all we did was sit in plastic recliners (mine was broken) and watch tv. They also had people in recliners in the hallway with no tv. Never was I given any medication to help me through my detox either. I completed my 3 days at detox and made an appointment for an interview for their counseling services. At my interview the woman said that I have to be off drugs if I wanted to go to counseling. So then I told her I don’t want to go to the guidance center rehab (because of my experience) but was hoping my new counselor would help me look around for a rehab that was long term and out of flagstaff. Instead I got denied for counseling.

Giving an additional star because Lisa is awesome. The reason for my review is that while I was going through some physical health issues in addition to mental health problems for a few months, I was unable to resume my regular appointments. They claimed to have sent me two letters attempting to resume care, which I did not receive. What I did receive from them was a letter stating that I was discharged, and it took me by complete surprise. I was unaware this was happening, and I never received the previous letters they claim to have sent. If I received phone calls or voicemails, I was unaware of those either, as they are a source of anxiety for me, which is a recognizable fault I cannot usually control. I recognize there were some things I probably could have done that may have prevented this issue, but the way it was handled on their end was also shameful. I'm leaving this review so that they know, as mental health professionals, that their actions (or rather lack thereof) have actually caused a greater burden upon the health of one of their unwillingly-former patients. There are more prudent forms of communication with patients, such as text message or email. Please try to implement such forms, especially for your patients that have anxiety caused by phone and voicemail communication, and not rely on snail mail, which isn't always guaranteed to arrive and there is no proof that it was actually sent. Now I have to go through the whole intake process again (that I can't make an appointment for and have to drive three hours to walk in), which delays much needed care, as apparently you can't get an appointment the same day as intake. Another major flaw in care that I hope you work on. In short, the administrative aspect of The Guidance Center could really use some work.
