I have been dealing with shoulder and neck pain for many years and my main reason for not getting surgery to fix the problem was due to the fact that a few people that I knew who actually had the Cervical Disc Replacement done came back with long, horrible looking scars and in some cases the pain did not go away. A friend told me about Dr.Charles Edwards II and after doing some research about him I decided to give his office a call and reach out to him. Greatest decision ever. Dr. Charles Edwards II was everything she said he was. He was personable and made me feel comfortable about discussing my fears concerning the idea of surgery. He explained the process thoroughly and answered all my questions in a simple manner that did not require a medical degree to decipher the information. He was patient in listening to me and after a couple of Face-Time meetings I felt as if we were long time friends. I finally met him in person on the day of my surgery and it was an amazing experience. The aura he projects is that of a real person who really cares about people and his presence made me feel even more welcome and relaxed. Needles to say the surgery went well and I left with a small incision and I am on my way to recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Charles Edwards II and his wonderful staff at the Maryland Spine Center.

Beware of their billing system! You get charged just for walking in the door as they charge you for MyChart services which is YOUR electronic medical chart, billed as a 'facility fee'. Upon your initial visit to a Mercy specialist you will be charged two fees for this reason. It's bogus and misleading! They also took Xrays without question upon me coming in which was an additional charge as nothing was pre-authorized through my insurance. You'd think the billing dept would check on that before having the patient incur unexpected fees. I had to pay the cost of the Xray in full due to lack of administrative oversight. Dr. Justin Park was extremely dismissive and gave me no guidance or direction on the next steps I should take to treat my pain after three brain/spine surgeries before the age of 29. He didn't listen, rather talked and looked at images, then left the room. The only reason for 1 star is due to the cleanliness of the facility. This kudos goes to the hospital EVS though and not this department/practice. Horrible experience, highly recommend exploring other options, especially in Baltimore.

This is my second time here for a procedure to take care of some “aging” issues in my upper spine. Approximately 18 months ago I found great relief in my lower back after being cared for at this facility. The wonderful Doctors and staff are true caregivers when it comes to relationships with their patients and giving proper care.

Dr. Edwards ll is the best. He did neck surgery july 2018 and my lower back june 2019 and after years of doctors telling me that there wasn't anything more they could do for me I feel like a new person. No more pain. He also is the nicest most caring doctor I have ever seen.
